述曰：下答有二：初質，後解。論主却難云：如汝且許一眼識為緣，能引多心所果生，寧不許此一識為緣，引多異類後心俱起？非大乘中一引多識為無間緣，如前第五卷說。今且抑語，或此是前六識相望為緣師義，正義解云。

The Commentary states: Below are two answers: first questioning, then resolving. The author turns the objection back, saying: Just as you grant that a single eye-consciousness serves as a condition capable of inducing the arising of multiple mental factor effects, why not grant that this one consciousness serves as a condition inducing multiple heterogeneous subsequent minds to arise simultaneously? It is not that in the Mahāyāna one [consciousness] induces multiple consciousnesses as an equal-and-immediate condition, as stated earlier in the fifth fascicle. This is just a concession for the sake of argument; or this is the doctrine of the master who holds that the first six consciousnesses serve as conditions for one another.
