述曰：下解有五，如文可知。我不定說此無間緣唯有一識現相續生，以我許多識俱者，許現在中此緣多故，自各相望多緣，能引多識果起義。

The Commentary states: Below are five explanations, which can be known from the text. I do not say definitively that this equal-and-immediate condition is only a single consciousness arising in active succession; because I grant that multiple consciousnesses are simultaneous, I grant that in the present this condition is multiple, meaning that in relation to one another, multiple conditions are capable of inducing multiple consciousness-effects to arise.
