述曰：此總結，意與五相異。《解深密》說：第六識為眼等識俱一分別意識，不說五識為分別故。雖俱現量作用有異。

The Commentary states: This summarizes that the manas differs in characteristic from the five. The Saṃdhinirmocana-sūtra states: The sixth vijñāna is a discriminative mano-vijñāna co-arising with the eye-vijñāna and so forth; it does not say that the five vijñānas are discriminative. Although both are direct perception, their functions differ.
