述曰：即《厚嚴經》：「心、意、識所緣，皆非離自性」，即緣識之體或事性即自心法，或理體即義之所依本事，謂第八心、第七意、餘六識所緣，皆自心為境。佛言由如是理故，我說一切有為、無為皆唯有識，無餘實心外境也。

The Commentary states: This is from the Ghanavyūha-sūtra: 'The objects of cognition of citta, manas, and vijñāna do not depart from their own nature'—that is, taking the substance of consciousness, or its phenomenal nature, which is one's own mental dharma, or its real substance, which is the original entity that forms the basis of the object. This means that the objects of cognition of the eighth mind, the seventh manas, and the remaining six consciousnesses all take one's own mind as their object. The Buddha stated: by virtue of such reasoning, I say that all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are vijñapti-mātra, and there is no other real object external to the mind.
