述曰：四緣為四文。因緣宗廣一切種等句，餘緣宗廣展轉力句。因緣中有三：初出體；次簡略；後釋妨。出體中有總、別。此為總也。非一切法有為皆是，今取親者。此即總出體訖，次別出體。

The Commentary states: The four conditions constitute four textual sections. The cause-condition primarily expands upon the lines 'all seeds', etc.; the remaining conditions primarily expand upon the line 'the power of mutual interaction'. Within the cause-condition there are three parts: first, identifying the substance; next, qualifications and exclusions; finally, resolving objections. Within identifying the substance there are general and specific aspects. This is the general aspect. Not all conditioned dharmas are [cause-conditions]; here only the direct ones are taken. This concludes the general identification of the substance; next comes the specific identification of the substance.
