述曰：謂能引次後自類功能，顯自種相生義，簡善、惡種為異熟種之因緣，彼非自類故。此非間越，間越即間斷不次，便非因緣，如現行因變異熟果，現行業法望種及果非因緣故。及起同時自類現果者，亦簡現受，現行報異熟之因種，彼非自類故，此中但自類為因緣，異性便非故，即種子所望二種為因緣。

The Commentary states: 'Capable of leading to the immediately subsequent functions of their own kind' reveals the meaning of seeds generating each other within their own category, excluding wholesome and unwholesome seeds from being the cause-conditions for matured retribution seeds, because the latter are not of their own kind. 'This without interruption': if interrupted, meaning broken and non-sequential, it is not a cause-condition—just as an active cause transforms into a matured retribution result, where the active karmic dharma is not a cause-condition in relation to the seed or the result. 'And giving rise to simultaneous active results of their own kind' also excludes present fruition: active karmic seeds of matured retribution are not of their own kind, so here only those of their own kind are cause-conditions, and those of different natures are not. Thus, seeds are cause-conditions in relation to these two kinds.
