述曰：於中有四，初中復二：初顯相；後問答。阿陀那言顯位通故，非藏識通，且以異熟無記心，以死生三界容得為緣。

The Commentary states: In this there are four parts; the first part also has two: first, showing the characteristics; second, questions and answers. The word 'ādāna' is used to show that its stages are all-pervading, whereas ālayavijñāna is not all-pervading. For the moment, taking the vipāka indeterminate mind, through death and rebirth in the three realms it can serve as a condition.
