述曰：此識因、果位能自在轉，或分別起，或是俱生，故一切種所杖本質有、無不定。

The Commentary states: This consciousness can transform with mastery in both the causal and resultant stages; it arises either through conceptual differentiation or co-arises [innately]. Therefore, whether it relies on an external archetype across all types is not fixed.
