述曰：前言三位皆二乘根，如五十七下說：菩薩三根於勝解行地立初根，十地立第二根，佛地立第三。為釋此疑云：「菩薩見道亦有此根，但說勝解行者，以見道中時促不說」，謂初地有三：入、住、出地，此唯入地少時，故時促也，雖二乘亦爾，以見道前促於菩薩，所以說彼見道亦有。菩薩不然，不可為例。

The Commentary states: Earlier it was said that all three stages are faculties of the two vehicles, just as fascicle fifty-seven below says: with respect to the bodhisattva's three faculties, the first faculty is established in the stage of practice of resolute conviction (adhimukticaryā-bhūmi), the second faculty is established across the ten grounds, and the third is established in the Buddha-ground. To resolve this doubt, it says: 'The bodhisattva's path of seeing also has this faculty; but the mention only of the resolute conviction [stage] is because the time in the path of seeing is brief, so it is not mentioned.' That is to say, the first ground has three: entering, abiding in, and emerging from the ground; this [path of seeing] is only a brief time upon entering the ground, hence the time is brief. Although this is also true of the two vehicles, because the period prior to the path of seeing is briefer than that of the bodhisattva, it is therefore said that their path of seeing also possesses it. For the bodhisattva it is not so, and it cannot serve as a parallel.
