述曰：上解本文，下釋不盡。但言種子不說現故，雖除第三、四兩依處，外餘四依處亦有現行是因緣者，而多間斷，此略不說是因緣攝，但言種子是因緣故。

The Commentary states: The above explained the root text; the following explains why it is not exhaustive. Because it merely says 'seeds' and does not mention 'active states,' although setting aside the third and fourth bases, the other four bases also have active states that are cause-conditions, nevertheless, because they are mostly intermittent, they are briefly not mentioned here as subsumed under cause-condition, but rather it merely says that seeds are cause-conditions.
