述曰：然此總言，於見分中通與一切見分為所緣緣，皆能緣種故，亦與自證分等為所緣緣，佛果識體緣一切法故，與染別也。總是第一，以種望現為緣能生分別，是一切種如是如是變訖；第二、以現相望為緣生分別。於中初總；後別。

The Commentary states: However, speaking generally of this, within the darśanabhāga, it universally serves as an objective condition for all darśanabhāgas, because they are all capable of cognizing seeds; it also serves as an objective condition for the self-witnessing part (svasaṃvittibhāga) and so forth, because the entity of consciousness in the Buddha fruit cognizes all dharmas. Thus it differs from the defiled. This is entirely the first part, on seeds acting as conditions in relation to actual states capable of producing discrimination, concluding 'all seeds transform in such and such ways'. Second, actual states viewed in relation to one another as conditions producing discrimination. Herein there is first a general [explanation], and then a specific [explanation].
