述曰：此初寄問以發論端。雖知論主唯有內識，而既無有心外實緣，假說我、法一切有情由何法故生死相續？若無心外緣生死不續難。

The Commentary states: This first lodges a question in order to open the discourse. Although knowing that the author of the treatise [maintains] there is only internal consciousness, yet since there are no real conditions outside the mind and self and dharmas are metaphorically designated: by what dharma does the saṃsāra of all sentient beings continue? This is the objection that if there are no conditions outside the mind, saṃsāra would not continue.
