述曰：現行之業當造之時，熏於本識，起自業之功能，功能即是頌中所說為習氣者。
The Commentary states: At the very time when manifested karma is committed, it perfuses the root consciousness and generates a capability of its own karma. This capability is precisely what is spoken of in the verse as "vāsanā".
