述曰：總此頌意。由業及二取為緣、為因故，生死輪迴皆不離識，非心外法令生死續。以業、二取不離心、心所而得相續，為生死因果之體性故也。

The Commentary states: This summarizes the intention of this verse. Because karma and the two graspers act as condition and cause, the transmigration of birth and death is entirely not apart from consciousness; it is not dharmas external to citta that make birth and death continue. Because karma and the two graspers achieve continuation without departing from citta and caitasikas, they constitute the substantial nature of the cause and fruit of birth and death.
