The Commentary states: "Existence" refers to the three existences; "constituent" (aṅga) has the sense of cause and of division. That is, it is the cause of the three existences, the distinguishing cause that produces the wholesome and unwholesome destinies. This perfuming is present in all six consciousnesses; the rest of the text is self-evident. However, the word "various" mentioned in regard to unwholesome deeds indicates that the bad is more numerous than the good, in order to arouse revulsion; that the five destinies are differentiated is due to the power of karma.
