The Commentary states: This explains why karma alone is not called grasping. Worldly sentient beings mostly give rise to attachment regarding the present fruit, saying: "Now this is grasped as me and what belongs to me"; thus, the grasping subject and the grasped object are named grasping. Worldly sentient beings do not mostly give rise to attachment regarding karma, as in grasping an agent of the self, possessions of the self, and so on; thus, as said before, because grasping has the meaning of attachment, they do not mostly give rise to attachment regarding karma.
