述曰：出依處體。言依處者，非是與因別體，語即依處，是持業釋，下皆如是。與因一體，然依者，「於」義，俱第七囀聲，即於語體上，立隨說等因義也。如《大論》第五、三十八、《顯揚》十八、《對法》第四、《中邊》俱辨此因。

The Commentary states: This reveals the substantial entity of the basis. The expression 'basis' (āśraya-pada / sannidhisthāna) is not an entity distinct from the cause: speech is itself the basis; this is a karmadhāraya compound, and so it is below. It is of one substance with the cause. However, 'basis' has the sense of 'in/upon', both being the seventh case [locative]; that is, upon the substance of speech, the meaning of the cause of nominal expression, etc., is established. As fascicles five and thirty-eight of the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, fascicle eighteen of the Prakaraṇāryavācā, fascicle four of the Abhidharma-samuccaya, and the Madhyāntavibhāga all distinguish this cause.
