述曰：自下第二二因相攝中，有二師別解。初師中二：初引菩薩地；後引有尋等地文。引菩薩地中有三：一、引文；二、正釋；三、立理。引文訖，能生因親，方便因疎。初解與古來大異，第二大同。

The Commentary states: Below is the second section, on the mutual subsumption of the two causes, in which there are two distinct explanations by two masters. In the first master's [view] there are two parts: first, citing the *Bodhisattvabhūmi*; second, citing the text of the *Savitarkādi-bhūmi*. In citing the *Bodhisattvabhūmi* there are three points: 1. citing the text; 2. explaining it directly; 3. establishing the rationale. After citing the text: the productive cause is immediate, while the auxiliary cause is distant. The first explanation differs greatly from ancient [interpretations], while the second is largely the same.
