述曰：由第四禪無漏勝定，資有漏業，令所得果相續新生，長時不絕展轉增勝，實有漏業感，但由無漏資力勝故，假得感名，非無漏業實能感苦者。此無漏業如是感時，由所知障為緣，助此無漏之力，非無漏業獨能感果，明所知障不同煩惱，故次論言。

The Commentary states: By means of the superior undefiled concentration of the fourth dhyāna, one sustains defiled karma, causing the obtained fruit to arise anew in continuity, without interruption for a long time, progressively increasing in excellence. In reality, it is defiled karma that induces it; but merely because the sustaining power of the undefiled is superior, it is metaphorically named "inducing," not that undefiled karma can actually induce suffering. When this undefiled karma induces it in this way, it is because the cognitive hindrance serves as a condition to assist this undefiled power; it is not that undefiled karma can induce the fruit on its own. To clarify that the cognitive hindrance is unlike the defilements, the treatise next states:
