8.63

述曰：即此現行親辨果故，亦名為種生起種攝，近生果故，何以現行亦名種者？此中有例，如假說現行穀麥等種，彼既然，此亦爾。此六因中何因所攝？餘四因攝。

The Commentary states: Because this actual activity directly establishes the result, it is also called a seed and is subsumed under generating seeds, as it immediately produces the result. Why is actual activity also called a seed? There is a precedent here, such as conventionally speaking of actual grains, barley, and so forth as seeds. Since that is so, this is also like that. Among these six causes, which cause is it subsumed under? It is subsumed under the remaining four causes.
