8.645

述曰：下逐難解。初解變易難；後釋頌中不說現行等所以。此則初也。雖無如分段別盡別生，而以定願數資助故，改去前惡者，轉生後勝者，亦有前盡後更生義。此即所資業力未盡，為令增勝故改轉也，或有定力，非極長時增勝，但得二十劫等，為令更增，亦有前盡後生之義。

The Commentary states: Below is the explanation according to objections. First is the explanation of the objection concerning transformation; second is the explanation of the reason the verse does not speak of active manifestations and the like. This is the first. Although it lacks separate exhaustion and separate birth like [samsāra of] distinct portions, yet because it is repeatedly assisted by meditative stabilization and vows, abandoning the previous inferior state and transforming to produce a subsequent superior state, there is also the sense of the previous being exhausted and a subsequent being born again. This means that before the assisted karmic power is exhausted, in order to make it more superior, it is transformed; or there is meditative power that does not increase its superiority for an extremely long time, but only obtains twenty eons and the like, and in order to cause it to increase further, there is also the meaning of the previous being exhausted and a subsequent being born.
