述曰：下立理也。非此〈尋、伺〉文生起因，屬十因中第四生起因，若唯一生起因者，生起中非因緣法，攝盡便寬。又，即彼牽引等五因中，若現、若種，有因緣故，不攝便狹。

The Commentary states: Below is the establishment of the rationale. It is not that this generative cause in the text of the *Savitarka-vicāra* belongs to the fourth generative cause among the ten causes. If it were solely the single generative cause, phenomena that are not direct causes within the generative [cause] would make the subsumption too broad if completely included. Furthermore, within those five causes such as traction, whether actual activity or seed, because there are direct causes, not subsuming them would be too narrow.
