9.128

述曰：釋「分別」字唯局有漏，兼顯不說淨分所由，或從此下方解第二句，以上總解第一句也。今此頌中應知，且說染分依他，謂分別法因緣所生，雜染諸法名為分別，依他因緣之所生故。或染依他為分別緣之所生故，唯雜染故。此中依他唯說染分，淨分依他亦圓成故，顯通二性，明淨依他不名分別，染依他起唯依他故，顯此頌中唯明染分。

The Commentary states: Explaining that the character 'discrimination' is restricted solely to the sāsrava, and also showing the reason why the pure division is not mentioned; or, from here down, explaining the second line, whereas all above generally explained the first line. In this verse now, one should know that it provisionally speaks of the defiled division of the other-dependent, meaning that dharmas of discrimination are born of causes and conditions, and defiled dharmas are called discrimination because they are born from other-dependent causes and conditions. Or, because the defiled other-dependent is born from conditions of discrimination, it is solely defiled. Here the other-dependent speaks only of the defiled division, because the pure division of the other-dependent is also the perfected [nature]; revealing that it extends through two natures, it makes clear that the pure other-dependent is not called discrimination, whereas the defiled other-dependent is solely other-dependent, thus revealing that this verse clarifies only the defiled division.
