述曰：下成前也。一切異生心、心所法，已能緣自相、見分等，雖親得依他，由我、法執恒俱起故，不知自心、心所虛妄顯現，由此不能了依他也，乃至八喻，謂無始來見分緣自相分，自證緣自見分，亦緣自身證自證分，證自證分亦緣自自證故，故言「緣自相、見分等」。由我、法執，第七識等三性之心，恒俱行故，不如實知自心虛妄，如幻事等。

The Commentary states: Below establishes the preceding [point]. The citta and caitasika dharmas of all ordinary beings can already take their own nimittabhāga, darśanabhāga, and so forth as cognitive objects; although they directly obtain the other-dependent, because grasping of self and grasping of dharmas constantly arise alongside them, they do not know that their own citta and caitasikas are false manifestations, and on this account they cannot understand the other-dependent, up to the eight analogies. That is to say, since beginningless time the darśanabhāga takes its own nimittabhāga as cognitive object, the svasaṃvittibhāga takes its own darśanabhāga as cognitive object and also takes its own saṃvittisvasaṃvittibhāga as cognitive object, and the saṃvittisvasaṃvittibhāga also takes its own svasaṃvittibhāga as cognitive object; therefore it says "take their own nimittabhāga, darśanabhāga, and so forth as cognitive objects." Because the minds of the three natures, such as the seventh consciousness, constantly act together with the grasping of self and dharmas, they do not truly know that their own mind is false, like an illusion and so forth.
