The Commentary states: This is also because they are anāsrava in terms of designation. The Madhyāntavibhāga says: these are exclusively the domain of the noble, because they are revealed by noble wisdom. Question: Why is consciousness-only not the former two natures, and right conduct alone does not extend to paratantra? Answer: Parikalpita-svabhāva for the most part does not cling to consciousness-only, and paratantra-svabhāva rarely is able to know consciousness-only; therefore they are not subsumed under the former two. Right conduct is spoken in terms of freedom from faults, so it is not said to extend to paratantra. Speaking according to the truth, the former extends to the first two natures, and the latter extends to paratantra, without any flaw. Furthermore, all seven can pertain to the three natures without contradicting principle, because the object clung to, the transformation of citta, and the essence of tathatā differ. Since the treatise speaks according to their marks, there is no error.
