述曰：《顯揚》十六說與此同，初二頌正答所問，後一頌明唯識性，即是從初能變後及此二頌。廣前第一初一頌半，宗明世俗諦。今此第三頌，顯前所說唯識真理，宗明勝義諦，總成廣前初分也。若約境、行、果科者，前來及此初二頌，廣俗諦境；此第三頌，廣真諦境。以上隨應思准。就初二頌中，初一頌總答；次頌別答。

The Commentary states: The Prakaraṇāryavācā, fascicle sixteen, states the same as this. The first two verses directly answer the question asked; the latter one verse clarifies the nature of vijñapti-mātra. That is, from after the initial transforming [consciousness] through these two verses, they elaborate on the first verse and a half from earlier, whose primary purpose was to clarify the conventional truth. Now this third verse reveals the true reality of vijñapti-mātra spoken of previously, whose primary purpose is to clarify the ultimate truth; together they complete the elaboration of the earlier first section. If categorized according to cognitive object, practice, and fruit: what preceded and these first two verses elaborate on the object of conventional truth; this third verse elaborates on the object of ultimate truth. The above should be reflected upon and weighed accordingly. Within the first two verses, the first verse gives a general answer, and the next verse gives a specific answer.
