述曰：此略答也。謂具大乘二種種姓，答能入人，通定、不定性大根器者，非餘乘也。「略於五位」，答所經時，十三住等略為五也。大果難感，故經五位。「漸次悟入」，答入方便。萬行難修，二果叵證，非頓方便即能入也。

The Commentary states: This is the brief answer. Saying 'those who possess the two kinds of gotras of the Mahāyāna' answers who the person capable of entering is, encompassing those with great capacity of determined and undetermined gotras, not the other vehicles. 'Briefly through five stages' answers the duration traversed, summarizing the thirteen abidings (vihāra), etc., into five. Because the great fruit is difficult to achieve, one traverses five stages. 'Gradually awakens and enters' answers the expedient means of entry: the myriad practices are difficult to cultivate and the two fruits are difficult to realize, so one cannot enter through an abrupt expedient.
