9.51

The Commentary states: The two graspings of self and phenomena are necessarily associated with avidyā. It is not that avidyā exists within a wholesome mind, because its nature is contrary to the wholesome root of non-delusion (amoha). The former master says: What fault is there in this? I am like your Hīnayāna vitarka and vicāra arising together: vitarka and vicāra have conforming natures and may be admitted to arise together, but a wholesome mind and avidyā have contrary natures.
