9.544

述曰：解第一師所引教文，相分同初，見分有異，文意易解。第二師云：《所緣論》說：識依彼生，帶彼相故名緣於彼。若無真如相，應非是所緣。

The Commentary states: Explaining the scriptural texts cited by the first master; its nimittabhāga is identical to the first, but its darśanabhāga is different, and the text's meaning is easy to understand. The second master says: The Ālambana-parīkṣā states: 'Consciousness arises depending on that; bearing that mark, it is called cognizing that.' If it lacks the mark of tathatā, it should not be an objective condition.
