彼量云：大乘風鈴聲等應有詮用；聲性故；如內語聲等。或內聲等不能詮；聲攝故；如風鈴等。次云直以理遂，如彼風鈴不生名等，我風等聲亦不能詮。量云：汝風鈴等聲應生名；聲攝故；如內語聲。

Their inference states: 'According to the Mahāyāna, the sounds of windbells and so forth should have expressive function; because they have the nature of sound; just like internal vocal sounds and so forth.' Or: 'Internal sounds and so forth cannot express; because they are subsumed under sound; just like windbells and so forth.' Next, it states that directly following the reasoning: just as those windbells do not generate names and the like, our sounds of wind and so forth also cannot express. The inference states: 'Your sounds of windbells and so forth should generate names; because they are subsumed under sound; just like internal vocal sounds.'
