《瑜伽》第十六引經云：染污意恒時諸惑俱生滅。若解脫諸惑，非先亦非後。彼自釋云：非先者，與諸煩惱恒俱生故；非後者，即與彼惑俱時滅故。

Fascicle sixteen of the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra cites a sūtra stating: 'The defiled manas always arises and ceases together with the afflictions. If one is liberated from the afflictions, it is neither earlier nor later.' It explains itself: 'Neither earlier' means that it always arises together with the afflictions; 'neither later' means that it ceases simultaneously with those afflictions.
