應說三乘斷見、修別。第七識頓斷中任運，簡見道一切，內起簡修道，外緣事、獨頭、貪、瞋、癡等，以此二義，故無麁、細。無麁、細言，簡修道內外緣迷理身、邊二見及此相應。九地斷有麁、細故，如是總簡一切惑盡。

One should explain the distinctions between the abandonment in the seeing [path] and the cultivate [path] for the three vehicles. In the seventh consciousness, in sudden abandonment, 'spontaneous' excludes all [abandonment] of the path of seeing; 'inwardly arising' excludes the path of cultivation's externally directed affairs, independent greed, hatred, delusion, and so forth. By these two meanings, there is neither coarse nor fine. The phrase 'neither coarse nor fine' excludes the inward- and outward-directed view of self, extreme views that are deluded regarding principle, and those associated with them, in the path of cultivation. Because abandonment in the nine grounds possesses coarse and fine, in this way all afflictions are excluded completely.
