2.73

難滅定染無記心。云餘染無記心必有心所故。此中心必有心所。宗也。加之滅定位心文言方足。不爾則有相符極成。染無記心故。因也。如餘染無記心。喻也。因脫故字。喻少如字。餘皆文足。應義讀取。

Refuting the defiled indeterminate mind in the cessation attainment: It says that because other defiled indeterminate minds necessarily possess mental factors, here [the proposition (pakṣa)] is: 'The mind necessarily possesses mental factors.' Only when one adds the words 'the mind in the state of the cessation attainment' is the phrasing complete; otherwise, there would be the fault of proving what is already established (siddhasādhana). 'Because it is a defiled indeterminate mind' is the reason (hetu). 'Like other defiled indeterminate minds' is the example (dṛṣṭānta). The reason lacks the word 'because' (gu), and the example lacks the word 'like' (ru); otherwise the text is complete and should be read and grasped according to its meaning.
