然《毘尼母律》中云：犯重失戒。《涅槃》等云：若言失戒，不解我意，若不失戒，亦不解我意。其義云何？

However, in the Vinayamātṛkā it says: 'Committing a grave offense causes the loss of the precepts.' The Nirvāṇa [Sūtra] and other texts say: 'If one says that one loses the precepts, one does not understand my intention; if one says that one does not lose the precepts, one also does not understand my intention.' What is the meaning of this?
