3.87

言定通等力。西明云：等取神通，傳三藏亦等願力。有云：等取有十能變，定、通、願同四，佛加被力等。今謂不爾。若佛加被即神通力攝，持經、神呪是法力攝，諸受變改力、煩惱力、改寶珠梵行等力，即前業力攝。《要集》云：第八三力變，佛等加被，與願無異者。此亦不爾，加被是通，非願力也。

Concerning the power of concentration, supernatural faculties, etc.: Ximing says that "etc." includes supernatural faculties, and tradition says that the Tripiṭaka [master] also included the power of vows. Some say: "etc." includes ten transforming capacities: concentration, supernatural faculties, vows, together with the four powers of the Buddha's empowerment, etc. We now say that this is not so. If it is the Buddha's empowerment, it is subsumed under the power of supernatural faculties; upholding sūtras and dhāraṇīs is subsumed under the power of the Dharma; the power to alter experiences, the power of defilements, the power of altering jewels and pure conduct, etc., are subsumed under the aforementioned power of karma. The Yaoji says: The eighth transforms through three powers, and the empowerment of the Buddhas and others is not different from vows. This is also not so: empowerment is supernatural faculties, not the power of vows.
