《論》釋緣彼。問：難陀師計七依本識，亦緣彼相應，何名依彼、緣彼？答：據執為我名依緣彼，火辨、安惠，並准此釋。

The Śāstra explains "cognizing that." Question: Master Nanda holds that the seventh relies on the root consciousness and also cognizes its associated [mental factors]; how can this be called "relying on that and cognizing that"? Answer: In terms of grasping it as a self, it is called relying on that and cognizing that. Citrabhāṇa and Sthiramati should both be explained in accordance with this.
