問：護法正義七緣八為我，自證緣見，作何行相？答：不同見分，自證思量見分之時，不作內外我、非我解，但冥證見體，亦如邪見緣外之時，見之自證緣見之時，但證見體，不同邪見。

Question: According to Dharmapāla's orthodox position, the seventh [consciousness] takes the eighth as a self. When the self-witnessing [part] takes the vision-part [as its object], what ākāra does it form? Answer: Unlike the vision-part, when the self-witnessing [part] cognizes the vision-part, it does not formulate an understanding of an internal or external self or non-self; it merely silently attests to the intrinsic substance of the vision[-part]. It is just as when a false view takes what is external as its object, the self-witnessing of that vision, in taking the vision as its object, merely attests to the intrinsic substance of the vision, without being identical to the false view.
