答：有二解，一、云此三作意各各斷三，行相品類皆相似故，《論》不別說；一云惑雖九品但三品斷，以其世道有三品故。諸論皆唯說三品斷，非九品故。

Answer: There are two explanations. One says: these three manaskāras each cut off three [grades], and because their cognitive aspects and categories are all similar, the treatise does not explain them separately. Another says: although the afflictions are of nine grades, they are cut off only in three grades, because the mundane path has three grades. The treatises all speak only of three grades being cut off, not nine grades.
