問：上緣於下見、戒二取，如何得緣下望於上，不得名勝？答：憶昔下界所起見、戒執為勝、淨。望下界說為勝、為淨，不形於上。

Question: When the higher takes the lower as an object, in the attachment to views (dṛṣṭiparāmarśa) and attachment to precepts and vows (śīlavrataparāmarśa), how can taking the lower as an object not be called superior when compared to the higher? Answer: Recollecting the views and precepts formerly arisen in the lower realm, one grasps them as superior and pure. In comparison to the lower realm they are spoken of as superior and pure; they are not compared to the higher.
