問：忿等依嗔分，嗔得身邊俱，忿等何不爾？答：麁細異故。問：忿等麁猛，各起名主，與慢等俱，豈存主稱？答：以自類非俱，說為主故。

Question: Wrath and the others are portions based on hatred; hatred can coexist with [the views of] identity and extremes; why are wrath and the others not likewise? Answer: Because coarse and subtle differ. Question: Wrath and the others are coarse and fierce; each arising is called a sovereign [affliction]; when coexisting with conceit and so forth, how could the designation of 'sovereign' remain? Answer: Because they do not coexist with their own kind, they are called sovereign.
