答：一違《論》：說有分別非尋伺，復有三失：一、地不遍；二、識不遍；三、行不遍。不遍九地故，二於地中不遍識故，三於識中不遍行故。無尋、伺時，非分別故。

Answer: First, it contradicts the treatise, which states that there are discriminations that are not vitarka and vicāra. Furthermore, there are three errors: first, non-pervasiveness across grounds; second, non-pervasiveness across consciousnesses; third, non-pervasiveness across activities. [This is] because it would not pervade the nine grounds, secondly because it would not pervade the consciousnesses within the grounds, and thirdly because it would not pervade activities within the consciousnesses—since at times when there are no vitarka and vicāra, there would be no discrimination.
