Fascicle eighty-six of the Yogācāra says: "Due to the predominant power of the three doors to liberation, the four udānas are established: 'All conditioned phenomena are impermanent' and 'All conditioned phenomena are suffering' are established based on the wishless; 'All phenomena are without self' is established based on emptiness; 'Nirvāṇa is peaceful' is established based on the signless." According to what is explained here, the wishless subsumes twelve, because impermanence extends to three truths; emptiness subsumes sixteen, because all are without self; and the signless subsumes four, because cessation is nirvāṇa. In accordance with the common aspects: first there is nothing wished for; next one contemplates emptiness; and by means of emptiness one realizes cessation; this is the sixth alternative. According to [fascicle] seventy-two, in the mutual subsumption between the three liberations and the five factors, if it is from the side of the marks, the sixteen aspects are each commonly subsumed by the three. It says there: "In this way, among the five factors, how many are emptiness, or the object of emptiness?" The questions for the wishless and the signless are also the same.
