問:所發行支即三種業,業有三思,身、語唯動發,意可通三,作動意故,亦有動發。然福、不動必非癡俱,以是善故。准此,唯有遠緣引起,不了當苦而忻求等,唯見道惑,即但正發無助發者?
Question: The branch of formations activated consists of the three kinds of karma, and karma has three kinds of volition (cetanā). Body and speech are only activated by movement; mental [karma] can encompass all three, and because it acts to move the mind, it also involves movement and activation. However, meritorious and immovable [karma] are definitely not concomitant with delusion, because they are wholesome. In accordance with this, are there only [afflictions] acting as distant conditions to induce them—not understanding future suffering, yearning [for higher realms], and so forth—which are strictly the afflictions [abandoned by] the darśanamārga, meaning that there is only direct activation and none that auxiliary-activates them?
