答：不愚法者，作二十六；愚法之者，作後十六。或廣惠者，作二十六；非廣惠者，但作上下。所以《瑜伽》五十五但說上、下一十六心，據三乘通及非廣惠；《雜集論》中說總十六；今此論中具說二種。

Answer: Those not ignorant of phenomena practice the twenty-six; those ignorant of phenomena practice the latter sixteen. Or, those of broad wisdom practice the twenty-six; those not of broad wisdom only practice the upper and lower. Therefore, fascicle fifty-five of the Yogācāra speaks only of the sixteen minds of the upper and lower, based on what is common to the three vehicles and those not of broad wisdom; the Samuccaya speaks of the general sixteen; now this treatise fully explains both kinds.
