1.36

謂說法者是聽者餘。相續即身，身有二分，識差別緣，能與聽者而為緣故。令餘續等，返上可知。

It means the speaker of the Dharma is "other" with respect to the listener. "Saṃtāna" is the body; the body has two parts, and the distinct conditions of consciousness are able to act as conditions for the listener. Causing other saṃtānas, etc., can be known by reversing the above.
