According to the *Yogācārabhūmi*, fascicle sixty-five, there are three kinds of inseparable matter. First, matter inseparable by occupying a single location refers to the great elements and derived matter residing together in one location. 'Single' is explained as 'identical'; the producers and the produced look toward each other, their sizes and measures mutually penetrating without obstructing each other, their location having no difference; hence it is called 'the same location'. No distinct atoms reside in two locations; hence it is called 'inseparable'. For example, within a single eye, seven entities look toward one another, mutually penetrating and residing in the same location: namely, the eye-faculty, the body-faculty, color, fragrance, taste, touch, and the producing earth element—each of these seven atoms is in the same location.
