詳曰：此他比量，犯他不定，何得非過？應改因云：許非自性作用或時有不起故，既簡自性便無不定，或可自性安於宗中，而兼破之亦無其失。然初解勝，本破我故。

Detailed analysis: This inference of the other [school] commits the error of the other’s inconclusive reason (anyatarānaikāntika); how could it not be a fallacy? One should revise the reason to say: “Because it is accepted that, not being primordial nature (prakṛti), its operation occasionally does not arise.” Once primordial nature is excluded, there is no inconclusiveness. Alternatively, one could place primordial nature within the thesis and refute it simultaneously, which would also have no fault. However, the first interpretation is superior, because the original intent was to refute the self.
