有義二釋，一云：同《疏》，外道我體非我見緣。故下論云：若無我見能證涅槃，次云：若是我見境者，是設遮也。

There are two explanations by some. One says: In agreement with the Commentary, the essence of the non-Buddhists’ self is not an object cognized by the view of a self. Therefore, the Treatise below states: “If one lacks the view of a self, one can realize nirvāṇa”; then it states: “If it is an object of the view of a self…”, which is a hypothetical exclusion.
