答：本意但爭我體有無，汝妄執我常能作、受，故為前量。然真如理非能作受，體是實有，故正智緣，廣如《掌珍論》。

Answer: The original intention was solely to dispute the existence or non-existence of the self’s essence. You falsely cling to the self as permanent and capable of acting and experiencing; hence the previous inference was made. But the principle of true suchness is not an agent or an experiencer; its essence is truly existent, and therefore correct wisdom cognizes it, as explained at length in the Karatalaratna.
