1.517

若言我見不通心王及餘心所，執言寬故。該見同時心、心所等皆名為執。或言我執，亦唯是見，如下但說見名為執。今取前釋。

If one says “view of a self”, it does not extend to the primary mind and other mental factors, whereas the word “grasping” is broader. It encompasses the mind and mental factors simultaneous with the view, which are all called “grasping”. Alternatively, one may say that “grasping of a self” is also exclusively the view, just as below it only calls the view grasping. Now we adopt the former interpretation.
